The MD10G Copper SFP transceivers comply with the 10Gbase-T, 5Gbase-T, 2.5Gbase-T, and 1000base-T standards as specified in the IEEE 802.3-2002 and IEEE 802.3ab regulations. This compliance ensures that the transceivers can seamlessly integrate into existing network infrastructures, supporting data rates of up to 10 Gbps over a reach of 100 meters with unshielded twisted-pair category cables. One of the standout features of this module is its efficient use of the SFP’s RX_LOS pin for link indication, which must be pulled up on the host. Additionally, by pulling up or opening the SFP’s TX_DISABLE pin, the PHY IC can be reset, allowing for smooth network management and maintenance. Furthermore, these transceivers are designed with cost in mind while ensuring high performance. They provide standard serial ID information compliant with the SFP Multi-Source Agreement (MSA). This information can be accessed via the 2-wire serial CMOS EEPROM protocol at the address A0h, simplifying the integration process for network administrators.
