Vi-Link MD10 Copper Small Form Pluggable (SFP) Transceiver

The Vi-Link MD10 Copper Small Form Pluggable (SFP) transceiver is a high-performance, cost-effective module compliant with the Gigabit Ethernet and 1000BASE-T standards as specified in IEEE 802.3-2002 and IEEE 802.3ab. It supports 1000 Mbps data rates over unshielded twisted-pair (UTP) Category cable for transmission distances up to 100 meters.

The module enables 1000 Mbps full-duplex data links using 5-level Pulse Amplitude Modulation (PAM-5) signaling. All four wire pairs in the cable are utilized, each operating at a symbol rate of 250 Mbps.

The MD10 provides standard serial identification information compliant with the SFP Multi-Source Agreement (MSA), accessible via the 2-wire serial CMOS EEPROM protocol at address A0h. The internal physical IC can also be accessed through the same 2-wire serial bus at address A0h.
